I found these 'letters' posted on our condo's bulletin board.

This is the first letter that was posted (there is a section that's grammatically incorrect, but I left it as is):
Second Floor Owners,
Please ask your kids not running inside building! It's not safe and annoying.
Thanks,
Your quiet neighbor 9/10/2017

And this is the response:
Thanks for understanding. We are kids and one day when we are old we won't be able to run...Have a wonderful day!! Remember, kids are kids :)

Is this a friendly exchange or not.
I'm not really sure, but wow, takes some confidence to say, "Kids are kids." If it were me, I would apologize. In general, I think people say what they want to say and don't keep it in. They're direct and honest, so it's easy to build a relationship.

I've lived in the US for almost 25 years, but I haven't lived in condos for too long.
Guess there's still things in the US that surprise me!

This is my daughter (1st grader)'s homework. This time, it's a worksheet on combinations/addition. My daughter is able to do her math homework all by herself but...

This time, she said, "Mommy, please help."

I looked at the worksheet and saw word problems

(Here's the problem):Jack puts 7 plates on two table. What are two different ways he can do this?

I read her the problem, but she still says she doesn't understand.

I've come to realize that she's at an age where English reading and comprehension skills are important.

Some day, I have a feeling that English will be easier for my daughter so I don't feel bad when she says, "I don't understand English." Actually, I think it's a good thing that she says that.

Amazon bought Whole Foods! So what kind of effect will this have on consumers

It depends on the product, but prices have gotten cheaper!
For example, bananas. Before, it was 99 cents per pound, but now it's 69 cents.

Whole Foods products are usually on the expensive side, but I go there once a week
I frequently buy spices and nuts in the bulk section, Japanese sweet potatoes (organic), yogurt, sprouted tofu, bread, etc.

Amazon started off as an on-line book store. Now, they even have a service called Amazon fresh, a food delivery service. If you sign-up, you can get your groceries delivered to your door on the day you order or the next for $14.99/month. For orders over $40, delivery is free.

I have a feeling Amazon is going to change our lives.
