My daughter started kindergarten this past week. She was all smiles on the first day until she had to enter the classroom. She suddenly starts crying. Well, I know she’s the type that suddenly bursts in tears for no big reason, so I wasn’t too surprised. When I went to pick her up, she was all happy. I knew she would be fine.

Second day of school, she seems to really be enjoying class. She tells me all about what happened in class. It might be because she’s matured, but before, I would always have to ask her what happened in class and her answer would always be, “I don’t remember.” I can see she’s learning a lot already!

After I picked her up on the first day, she was singing, “I love tacos.” Then on the second day, she was saying, “Aqui!” to her little brother. ‘Aqui’ is ‘Come here.’ in Spanish. Yes, most of her classmates are Spanish speakers and she’s picking up on Spanish, too! She told me that she likes Spanish. I know a little Spanish myself, so I’ll probably be able to have a simple conversation in Spanish with her some day.

Don't you sometimes feel like chatting about 「マイブーム」? Especially ladies. We love to talk about what we're into, right?

って?"This is my boom."
So, how do you say 「これがマイブームです。」in English? Be careful though as saying, "This is my boom." won't make any sense to a native speaker. When you want to express what you're into, using the phrase, "be into ○○” is probably the best choice.

I'm into massaging my pressure points while in the sauna.

This is a weird example, but this is really what I am into. And one time, a Caucasian old lady saw me doing this and asked me, "Are you in pain?" Thai, shiatsu, and other massages are popular among Americans too, but I think people rarely massage their pressure points by themselves.
