Kids won't be going to school for the rest of the school year due to the school closure. 
We have plenty of time, so we decided that this is a good opportunity to open up a brokerage account for my daughter and let her buy a stock of her choice. 
夏休みまで休校が決まってる子供達。子供達と一緒に過ごす時間がたっぷりあるので、この間、娘の投資用の口座を開き、好きな株を買わせてみました。

I think in the US, many families provide opportunities for children to learn about money from a young age. 
アメリカだと何らかの形で、小さいうちから子供に資産運用など、
お金のことを学ばせる家庭が多いと思います。

When I think of lower elementary school kids making money, I think of kids selling lemonade in front of their house. I don't see kids like that recently though. And also, babysitting is a popular job for middle school and high school kids. 
アメリカで小学校低学年の子がビジネスをすると言ったら、
家の前で手作りレモネードを売ったりするのが定番。最近は、あまり見かけない気もしますが。
あとは、ベビーシッターのアルバイトをする中学生・高校生もいます。

Warren Buffet bought his first stock when he was 11 years old. 
ウォーレンバフェットは、１１歳で初めて株を購入したそうです。

When children learn about financial management: 
- they learn that it's possible to earn money in different ways
- they are able to plan about how to earn money for living and about risk management
資産運用教育と通して、子供達は：
- 色々な方法でお金を得ることができるということに気づく
- 生活をするのに必要なお金をどう導き出すのか、どうリスク分散をするかなど、具体的な計画を立てられるようになる

From what age financial management should be introduced to a child depends on the child and on the family, but at our house, dad knows a lot about these things, so we decided that this is a good time to teach our daughter. 
何歳からどのように資産運用などの教育をさせるかは、その子供自身と家庭にもよりますが、
我が家ではパパが投資・資産運用に特に詳しいので、娘に投資をさせてみました。
