English version

My daughter woke up at 5:30am this morning and guess what she found underneath her pillow...

An envelope! And inside that envelope, a dollar bill! She was so excited!

She put the dollar bill in her wallet and said, "I have lots of money." While eating breakfast, she was asking me, "Have you ever seen the tooth fairy?" and we talked about the tooth fairy for awhile.

I wonder from a child's perspective, what is money? What kind of value does a dollar bill have?

Yesterday, my daughter suddenly said, "I want to be okaneyasan (literal translation would be 'person of money')." I asked her if she wanted to work at the bank and she said, "Yes." Maybe she's thinking this way because my husband says, "We don't have money, so no, we can't have that." I don't think this should be a 5 year olds dream job...When I was five, I think I wanted to work at the cake shop or flower shop.
