My son turned 3! We didn't have an official birthday party (like renting a indoor play place) but we celebrated his birthday several times.
First, we had a joint birthday party with friends.
Then, at the house. My son loves Thomas, so I made a Thomas cake. If you look at Thomas' face closely, it's pretty scary. Making Thomas out of chocolate was pretty difficult, so don't look too close at it!
And last, a birthday celebration at his daycare.
They celebrated, but in the US, birthdays are more of a time to say, "Thanks for celebrating," so the parents of the birthday boy/girl prepares goody bags and treats.
For his daycare, I made icing cookies and
bath bombs!
I asked the daycare teacher, "What should I bring?" She told me, "Anything like cupcakes are fine." Yes, at schools in the US, handing out cupcakes is a pretty popular thing. But unlike muffins, cupcakes usually have a lot of really sweet and unnatural colored frosting.
I don't feel comfortable bringing in cupcakes to a daycare, so I brought cookies. I was focusing on make a simple and cute design that doesn't use too much icing.
